How monitoring and ratings work

Edition of 12.10.2026

In short

  • Rates and reserves come directly from exchangers and are updated automatically.
  • The monitoring and the rankings by rate, reserves and directions are calculated automatically; nobody moves positions by hand.
  • Expert ratings are compiled by the editorial team using published criteria.
  • Partnerships and advertising do not affect positions.

1. Where the data comes from

Every exchanger in the monitoring supplies a rates export file in XML format. It contains the rates, reserves, limits and additional fees for each exchange direction. Our crawler reads this data continuously. How quickly a new rate appears on the Site depends on when the exchanger updates its file.

Exchangers' performance is checked regularly, including through their support teams and test transactions.

The exchanger is responsible for the accuracy of the data in its file. If it supplies incorrect data, deliberately or by mistake, it may be disconnected or removed from the monitoring — see the Listing Rules.

2. Rate monitoring

You choose what you give and what you want to receive. The monitoring shows the exchangers that serve this direction and sorts them by rate: at the top is the one that gives you the most at the current rate.

Next to the rate you can see the exchanger's reserve, age, country and number of reviews. Keep limits in mind: the exchanger with the best rate may not accept your amount.

3. Automatic rankings

Ranking Based on
Ranking by reserves the exchanger's total reserve in US dollar equivalent
Ranking by directions the number of exchange directions the exchanger offers
Exchanger ranking the list can be sorted by status, age, reserve, number of rates and reviews

The order in these rankings is calculated automatically. Positions are not managed by hand, and a place cannot be bought.

4. Expert ratings

"Best exchangers of the year", "Best crypto exchanges" and other selections are compiled by the editorial team. The criteria for each rating are listed on its page — for example, time in operation, meeting obligations, security, fees and convenience.

An expert rating is the editorial team's opinion as of the publication date, not a guarantee. Partnerships do not affect positions in it — see How we make money.

5. Reviews and user ratings

The number of reviews and their ratings are shown on the exchanger's page. How reviews and moderation work is explained in the Review Policy.

6. Exchanger statuses

  • Active — the exchanger is in the monitoring and its data is coming through.
  • Not working — the exchanger's rates are not shown (for example, because of technical work on the exchanger's website or for other reasons). The status is usually temporary.
  • Removed exchangers are not shown in the monitoring or in the rankings. They are listed on a separate page, Exchangers removed from the listing.

7. Found an error in the data?

If a rate, reserve or other data on the Site does not match the exchanger's website, let us know via Enquiries and Complaints. Attach a screenshot and the time you noticed the mismatch.
